Holiness is the essential nature of God. Holiness distinguishes God from all. The presence of God repels sin, iniquity and darkness. Therefore God cannot behold sin. The holiness of God endowed on a man enables him to stand before God blameless and perfect. After the fall of man, there was need to provide an atonement to purify man and make him worthy of God’s presence. The sacrifice of the body and blood of Jesus Christ purged man of all unrighteousness and made him a worthy temple of God’s Holy Spirit. Holiness in a man attracts and sustains the presence of God in the life of a man. The presence of God Fosters an intimate relationship with God. God requires man to be holy in order to enjoy fellowship with Him.
